This Privacy Policy describes how VerifyNumber ("VerifyNumber," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you access or use verifynumber.io, our applications, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service, meet legal obligations, and keep the platform secure. The categories of information we may collect include:
- Account information. Email address, password hash, and billing details you provide when you register or make a purchase.
- Verification session data. The service you are verifying (for example, "Telegram" or "Google"), the temporary phone number assigned to your session, and the SMS verification code received on that number during the session window.
- Usage data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring pages, and timestamps that are automatically generated when you interact with the Service.
- Payment information. Card details and billing metadata handled by our PCI-compliant payment processors. VerifyNumber does not store full card numbers.
- Support communications. Messages, attachments, and contact details you send when you reach out to our support team.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provision temporary phone numbers, route inbound SMS, and display verification codes to you.
- Authenticate you, maintain your account balance, and process payments and refunds.
- Monitor, secure, and improve the Service — including fraud prevention and abuse detection.
- Respond to support requests and send operational notices (receipts, security alerts, policy updates).
- Comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and enforceable governmental requests.
3. Message Content and Retention
SMS messages delivered to a temporary phone number during an active session are stored only for as long as needed to display the code to you and to handle billing and abuse disputes. After a session expires or is closed, the content of received messages is deleted from our user-facing infrastructure. Aggregated and anonymized metadata (such as delivery success rates) may be retained for service-quality analytics.
You should not use the Service to receive messages that contain sensitive personal information, financial credentials, or information you are not authorized to receive.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the limited circumstances below:
- Service providers. Carriers, eSIM partners, cloud hosting providers, analytics tools, and payment processors that help us operate the Service under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VerifyNumber, its users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality safeguards.
- With your consent. For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we request your information.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege permissions, and routine security reviews — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. International Data Transfers
VerifyNumber operates globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you reside. When we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, as well as the right to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing activities. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@verifynumber.io. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and understand how users interact with the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not function if cookies are disabled.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
